What will the children need to bring?
Children will be outside as much as possible therefore it is vital that they bring warm clothing and a waterproof. Trainers should be worn (with Astro-type trainers being the most suitable), no football boots are allowed but shin pads can be worn if desired. The children will need to bring plenty of fluids and if the weather is hot, sun cream. Children can also bring a small snack to eat during the break.
-
What you won’t need
Children won’t need to bring footballs as they are provided. We also advise that money (over a few pounds) or valuable items are not brought onto camp.
-
What happens at the start and the end of the day?
The children will register with their ISS head coach every morning before starting their warm-up. At the end of the day parents are required to sign their children out before they can be dismissed.
-
My son/ daughter does not play for a team, can they come on the course?
Certainly! Our emphasis is on having fun and learning new skills so their level of ability really doesn’t matter, it could even be their first football experience!
-
Will the children have a break?
The children will have a 20 minute break where they can drink, or eat any snacks they have bought. Children will be able to grab a drink at any point during the sessions if needed.
-
Are the coaches qualified and police checked?
Our head coaches hold no less than an FA LEVEL 2 coaching qualification or equivalent. All ISS coaches are police checked by the Criminal Records Bureau.
-
What happens in bad weather?
We will try and stay outside as much as possible but if the weather is very poor we have a limited indoor programme to ensure that the camp continues.
-
Can we parents come and watch?
Parents can watch any time throughout the day. See your child in action everyday in the ‘big match’ at 12.00pm. Alternatively come and watch our international soccer carnival on Friday, fun packed with competitions, challenges and games followed by our end of week presentation.
-
Can the children attend both weeks or just one?
In one week the children will develop their skills, make new friends and have a great time, so why end it there? The second week enables the children to build on their previous development further increasing their confidence and also have another week of jam packed fun!
-
What are the staff to children ratio’s?
Children under 8 will be coached at a ratio of 1:8. As the children get older we allow larger group sizes and ratios.
-
How many places are available on the course?
We try and accommodate for as many children as possible however venue space may limit us, so try and book as early as possible!
-
Can I come for the whole day or combine ISS with other programmes
Yes. The combination that many people chose is to book ISS with Kids or Teen Camp to provide a whole day of activities from 8.15am to 5.45pm (typical times).
